...r /> David was born and raised in the SE of England. He completed a degree and PhD at the University of Liverpool before becoming involved with the early evolution of the internet and ecommerce.
He moved to America in 1996 and continued to work within the area of ecommerce. He also started writing a humorous newspaper column looking at life in America through the eyes of a cynical Englishman. This became very successful and also led to David hosting his own TV talk show that broadcast on a regional cable channel.
David returned to the UK in 2000 to take-up a position with the airline bmi, and was part of the senior management team that set-up the low cost carrier bmibaby in 2002. He was Commercial Director for 18 months before being appointed Managing Director. He left this position in 2006.
Since leaving David has returned to the media and is rapidly building an excellent reputation as both a professional business speaker and a highly amusing after-dinner speaker. His knowledge and experience provides a wealth of hilarious stories and tales from the aviation industry that entertain audiences of all types.
In addition to after-dinner speaking, David is a facilitator and host for a number of leading conferences and award ceremonies, and also writes regularly for various travel and aviation media. He has also presented various TV shows on Sky cable channels.
David lives in Burton on Trent with his young family. He enjoys all sport, but is particularly keen on golf, water skiing and windsurfing.
