Guy Kawasaki has many guises - entrepreneur, evangelist, venture capitalist and business guru. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1954 and took a job after college working in the jewelry business where he learned to sell – a skill he describes as vital to his entire career.His big break came with the chance to work for Steve Jobs at Apple where his passionate evangelism for the Apple Mac took it to cult success. He returned in 1995 as an Apple Fellow to rejuvenate the Macintosh cult.His bestselling books include The Art of the Start - a step-by-step approach to launching great products, - Reality Check in which he cast an irreverent eye on dubious business trends and passing fads and Rules for Revolutionaries - his manifesto to create world-changing innovation. His latest book is Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions in which he draws on his tenure at Apple to talk about how to create enchanting products.He has started and sold on several software companies and set up Garage.com, now Garage Technology Ventures – which is an investment bank making direct investments in early-stage technology companies. He is also the co-founder of Alltop.com, an online magazine stand for popular topics on the web.
He has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College and describes himself as husband, father, author, speaker, and hockey addict.
