Johan Cruyff

Dutch Football Star and Coach

Johan Cruyff was elected European football player of the 20th century.

He played for AJAX Amsterdam and served as both a player and coach for FC Barcelona; he lives both in Barcelona and in Holland. He is currently engaged in analyzing the game for several television stations.

Cruyff became internationally known for his elegant performance, as well as his understanding of tactical matters, sense of humor, and unique use of language. He is generally considered one of the best football players of his time, next to Franz Beckenbauer and Pelé.

In his career of over 30 years, Johan Cruyff has won many prizes and awards, both in his capacity as player and trainer. Cruyff played 48 international matches and was team captain of the Dutch National Team 34 times.

He is active in providing football fields in underprivileged areas of big cities through his Cruyff Foundation.
