John started his professional show business career in 1966 when he joined in The Frost Report at the BBC, as both a performer and writer. In 1969 he starred in and wrote the first of the classic Monty Python's Flying Circus Programmes with Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam. The group went on to create such comedic classics as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life. John later collaborated with Connie Booth for
