Biography
2009 saw Kirsty host the fifth year of Ant versus Dec, a segment on popular, primetime ITV1 show Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Kirsty ensured fair play between the Geordie Duo and their celebrity teams by keeping score as they competed in daring weekly challenges.
In 2008, Kirsty hosted Gladiators with Ian Wright on Sky One. The family favourite show returned to our screens after a 7 year gap for a 15 week run.
Kirsty is a regular face on The National Lottery for BBC1 and has co-presented live primetime series Only Fools On Horses, which saw celebrities take on the challenge of show jumping to raise money for Sports Relief. While for Channel Four Kirsty hosted The Games following her triumph in the previous series.
Continuing the sporting theme, Kirsty has hosted her own sports and entertainment show for BBC Radio Five Live on Saturday mornings and has presented a weekly Wednesday evening Golf series for the station. Both shows saw her interviewing various luminaries from the sporting world while discussing the pressing issues of the day. Kirsty co-presented the star-studded golf extravaganza, the All Star Cup for ITV1/ITV2, live from Celtic Manor in Wales, which saw Europe take on the USA in a three-day golf tournament.
She also kick started BBC1’s new holiday series Departure Lounge by travelling to Singapore on their £500 challenge and has reported from Tunisia for BBC1’s Holiday. Other presenting credits include reporting for Richard and Judy in their book club series, co-hosting Simply The Best for ITV, co-hosting The Laureus World Sports Awards in Lisbon for Five and hosting her own series for Sky One including Kirsty’s Home Video’s and TV Meltdown.
Born in Edinburgh, Kirsty relocated to Surrey with her family. After graduating from the London College of Fashion, Kirsty pursued a career in broadcasting, where she worked as an editorial assistant for Sky Sports. Her natural talent and ability were soon spotted, and led to presenting stints on Sky Sports News and Soccer AM, as well as being one of the original presenters of RI:SE for Channel 4.
When she is not working, Kirsty likes to keep fit. She is a keen athlete and excels in a number of sports including swimming, sprinting and golf.
