He is author of "The Red Book on Advertising" and "The Red Book on Brands". He has given conferences and seminars on advertising in nearly every major city in the world. He has been nominated "Professional Man of the Year 1995" by the Marketing Club of Barcelona and awarded with "The Best Business Carrier" in Catalonia by Dossier Economic (weekly economic press). Awarded "Best Spanish Advertising Man of the C20th" according to a survey carried out by "El Publicista" magazine amongst advertisers, agencies, media and services throughout Spain; Awarded "The best Spanish Advertising Manager of the C20th" by "Anuncios" magazine; and awarded "The best Latin-American Advertising Professional of the C20th" by the ALAP (Latin American Advertising Agencies Association).
Bassat has a degree in Advertising, in Social Sciences and Business Administration. From 1987 until 1995 Adviser to the Advertising, Communication and Image of the President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Catalonian Autonomous Government. During 1998 and 1999, he was the Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Director of Ogilvy Europe, Africa and the Middle East operating out of London.
Born in October 1941, he is married with four children. He speaks Spanish, Catalan, French, English and Italian.
