Manager of the German National Football Team and International Ambassador of the World Cup 2006

Oliver Bierhoff was one of Germany's most popular soccer players. Since July 2004. Oliver’s current involvement with football is as the manager of the German national team, a new position created as part of Jürgen Klinsmann's acceptance of the coaching job. Essentially the duties revolve around the public relations aspect of the team as opposed to the coaching responsibilities

The centre-forward was top scorer with 27 goals in Italy's Serie A with Udinese in 1997-98. He won the Italian Championship with AC Milan in 1999 and was voted Germany's Footballer of the Year the following year.

Oliver earned worldwide renown with 37 goals in 70 international appearances, most notably with his two-goal performance in the 2:1 victory for Germany against the Czech Republic in the final of the 1996 European Championships in London.

Oliver is one of Europe's most popular football players and an outstanding personality of both the national and international game. He was the captain of the German National team and a star player of Italian AC Milan side.

A highlight of his career was his debut for Germany in the 1996 European Cup, in which he scored 'the golden goal' for his home side thus ensuring their victory in the championship. In 2002 after the World Cup in Japan and South Korea he retired from international football.

Apart from his passion for football Oliver has many other interests. He has studied Business Administration and plans after his football career a second career as a business consultant.

He has been a Unicef-Ambassador and in summer 2003 he became a member of the German WM-Committee. He is also the first international ambassador of the World Cup 2006 to be held in Germany. Thanks to his successes and his positive outlook towards new challenges, Oliver is a sought-after partner for well known brands.
