Need help picking the right speaker for your event?

It all starts with the topic – get the right subject for your audience and speaker selection suddenly gets much easier.

We’ve already talked about two of the hot topics going down well with audiences - Futurism and Innovation - but one subject that is really fresh on the speaking agenda right now is The Sharing Economy.

We’ve all heard of Airbnb which has been incredibly successful at connecting people who want to rent their homes with people looking for accommodation. New companies are starting up all the time, using the sharing economy model,  such as Park on my drive, Relayrides, Bla Bla Car and Dogvacay.

The sharing economy allows people to share property, resources, time and skills - unlocking previously unused, or under-used assets.

Leading the study of this exciting new sector is Rachel Botsman, author of What's Mine Is Yours: How Collaborative Consumption is Changing the Way We Live.

In this book she defines the theory of “collaborative consumption” – estimating the value of the consumer peer-to-peer rental market at $26bn (£15bn).

Her breakthrough TED talks on the subject have been viewed over two million times. TIME magazine subsequently named Collaborative Consumption one of the “10 Ideas that Will Change the World”.

To hear more about the impact of the sharing economy on global business and how it's changing the relationship between company and consumer Rachel would be an excellent choice of speaker.

You can book Rachel Botsman and find out more about this fascinating subject in this article from The Economist

Next time we’ll be looking at speakers with ideas to share on Big Data and the Digital Economy.
