Adam Shaw's 2024 biography

He regularly presents ITV’s Tonight programme – Britain’s best watched current affairs series – with weekly audiences of around 3 million people. He has presented many editions of BBC One’s Panorama programme, investigating some of the biggest business and economics issues facing the UK. He is currently a presenter of Money Box – one of the most popular factual strands on BBC Radio 4.

Adam was also the lead business presenter on Radio 4’s Today programme, during which time he interviewed most of the FTSE 100 CEOs and some of the world’s most powerful business leaders.

For many years he was also one of the key presenting faces of the hit long-running BBC Two daily finance programme Working Lunch.

He presented the BBC World News series, Horizons, which looked at how new technologies will change the way we live in future decades. It was one of the most watched shows on BBC World Television and was seen by millions across the globe each week. As part of the series, Adam interviewed some of the world most powerful and richest people – from Bill Ford to Bill Gates and lots of people not called Bill.

Adam has created programmes which have looked at a wide range of business and technology issues around the world. His reports have taken him to far flung destinations including getting lost in the Amazon and working in places such as Outer Mongolia, as well as the concrete power centres of the world’s capital cities.

Amongst a wide range of other programmes, Adam has presented the radio programmes Financial World Tonight and Radio 5’s Wake Up To Money.

For the US network CNBC, he was the presenter of The Internet of Things: Powering the Economy, which investigated how digital innovation is reshaping industries around the world.

For ITV Adam also presented two light-hearted series’– Cook Me The Money which looked at the drama behind setting up a pop up restaurant for the day and Drive To Buy which took couples on a property buying tour of the UK.

He presented and wrote Tutus and Tiaras for BBC 2/News 24 in which BBC cameras were allowed behind the scenes of the English National Ballet looking at a year in their life, as the company tried to find the finance for and produce their latest version of the Nutcracker which was designed by Gerald Scarfe.

Adam was the presenter of The Dame Game for the BBC which looked at the history of pantomime and the Pantomime Dame. He is also the presenter of Woodland Walks, in which he uncovers some of the most breath-taking woods around the UK.

In addition to his passion for demystifying the complicated world of finances and business, Adam has a keen interest in the theatre and, as a young actor, even spent a season at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

In addition to his work on television and radio, Adam has written for a number of newspapers including the Independent, Mail on Sunday and the Metro. He has written and co-authored a number of books: Political Rhubarb, Money and How to Make More of It, Managing Credit and Investing Basics.

Adam is a sought-after conference chair & facilitator and a highly skilled speaker. He has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.
