He is also the author of nine political publications including his latest best-selling book “Superpower: Three Choices for America's Role in the World”. Ian is the founder and president of the Eurasia Group which is a political risk research consulting firm.
He regularly expresses his views on political issues in speeches, TV appearances and high profile publications including Time magazine. He has also been called the “rising guru” in the field of political risk by The Economist. Ian is also a global research professor at NY University.
In 2007, he was named the “Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum”, where he is the founding chairman of the Global Agenda Council on Geopolitical Risk.
Ian has a master's degree in political science from Stanford University and has a bachelor's degree in international relations from Tulane University.
