Mary Nightingale's 2024 biography

Mary Nightingale’s background

She is currently an ITN news reader and presents the popular cookery series Britains Best Dish.

During the early 1990s, Nightingale worked first for TV Tokyo’s global business bulletin and then as a presenter for Reuters Financial Television, a channel which provided those working in the city with market bulletins throughout the day. These were roles in which accuracy, clarity and likeability were of great importance.

Needless to say, hard work and an approachable personality made them ideal jobs for Nightingale, who also carried out some presenting and writing work for the BBC World Service on their World Business Report. The fact she knew what city traders needed to know was no coincidence she started her career not in broadcasting, but as a salesperson and Eurobond dealer at the Bank of America International, going on to work in European Investment Funds and Banks for Tokai International. This valuable insight and real world experience really helped her on her road to success in TV and radio.
