Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most frequently-asked questions we receive from our clients.

How much do speakers cost?

Speaker’s fees vary enormously depending on a variety of factors. The individual’s level of fame, the success of an entrepreneur, the enormity of a sporting or exploration achievement, or the critical significance of a business development can all factor into the cost.

Speaker’s fees range between a few thousand pounds up to £100,000 or more. Fees are also affected by the distance a speaker has to travel or the time it takes to prepare and record a virtual speech.

The fees we quote typically are for a 40-45 minutes speech plus 15 minutes of Q&A.

To request a quote, please get in touch. One of our friendly agents will reach out to you as quickly as possible.

You can also browse our speakers, add them to your shortlist and submit a brief. Or request recommendations for your upcoming event.

Do I have to pay extra for your services?

You do not pay for our speaker agency services. The speakers we represent pay us a commission for every booking we manage for them.

We also provide free advice and recommendations to help you find the right speaker and are proud of our reputation for fast response and attention to detail.

Do any of your speakers accept pro-bono requests?

In the majority of cases, no. There are speakers and celebrities who will consider such requests, but we do not handle those requests. Please note that we are not able to give out speaker contact details under any circumstances nor can we forward requests for pro-bono or expenses-only engagements.

What other costs are involved?

For in-person events, you will need to cover the speakers’ expenses including travel, accommodation, meals and other incidentals. Normally, you will arrange flights on behalf of the speaker. In many cases, you will be responsible for organising the speakers’ accommodation and ground transportation from the airport to the hotel and/or event venue.

Please also note that many speakers and celebrities prefer to travel business or first class.

How do I find out how much a speaker charges?

Please get in touch and one of our friendly agents will be able to provide an estimate of the speaker’s fees.

I cannot find a specific speaker on your website. Can you still help?

Yes, as members of the IASB and founding members of the EASB, we can source and book virtually any speaker in the world. The speakers displayed on our website are only a portion of the 4,000+ speakers on our roster. If you are looking for a particular speaker and cannot find them, let us know. We will be able to secure them at the same fee as any other bureau.

Why should I use a bureau like Speakers Associates?

Hiring a speaker is not only a significant investment, it is also an important decision that needs to be handled carefully. In many instances, a keynote speaker can make or break an event. Our agents understand audience needs and know many of the speakers and their material extremely well.

In short, we make the task of hiring the right speaker much easier, helping you avoid the pitfalls whilst achieving exactly what you want for your event. Our years of experience and the industry-wide relationships we have formed can help you get the most value for your budget.

Can I book a speaker for a virtual event?

Yes, you can. The majority of speakers are happy to either give a live virtual or deliver a pre-recorded speech. They can also participate in a hybrid event.
