Following a career of 25 years in corporate sales, Alison set up her own business in 2011 to teach small businesses how to sell. Alison launched her personal brand, Alison Edgar, The Entrepreneur’s Godmother in 2016. Since establishing herself as a successful sales trainer, she has worked with some of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs from TV shows such as The Apprentice and Dragon’s Den.
Not only is Alison passionate about sales, but she is an advocate for small business and entrepreneurship across the UK. The business model Alison created enables aspiring entrepreneurs to create and grow successful businesses. In recognition for her service to enterprise, Alison was invited to the Queen’s Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
As champion for the small business community, Alison has worked on multiple national campaigns to inspire and motivate people of Britain to take action and turn their ideas into a business. During the 2017 UK General Election, Alison was a feature for BBC Breakfast, appearing on their live BBC Breakfast program for three weeks leading up to polling day to discuss the upcoming election and represent small business across Britain by explaining how the results of the election would impact local business owners and entrepreneurs.
Alison has a history or public speaking and media appearances. As well as making television, she has been interviewed for Radio 4 and Radio 5 Live, and featured on multiple international radio and podcast channels. She has been a national press feature in publications such as The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Mail on Sunday and Prima Magazine.
An inspiring speaker, Alison has spoken and held workshops as some of the UK’s largest business expos, including QuickBooks Connect London 2017. As an educational speaker who has first-hand experience running a business, Alison was invited to speak at the first ever event of its kind in the Middle East, where she was the lead speaker at a two-day event focusing on business and sales. Most recently Alison was enlisted to speak on the Mastered Program for creative entrepreneurs, where she spoke to a room of designers from around the world.
Most recently Alison has been focusing on her book, Secrets of Successful Sales. The book brings together behavioural psychology and Alison’s 25 years’ experience in sales to provide readers with a methodology they can implement into their own businesses to grow. The book is due to launch in February 2018.
