Biography

Dan Jørgensen brings senior-level experience from both European and national government, with direct responsibility for energy, climate and housing policy at the highest level of the European Union. As European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, he works at the centre of EU decision-making on energy systems, market design and climate strategy.

His ministerial leadership in Denmark spans climate, energy and utilities, development cooperation and global climate policy, and food, agriculture and fisheries. These portfolios place him at the intersection of environmental policy, economic priorities and international cooperation.

Earlier in his career, he served as a Member of the European Parliament, including as Vice-Chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.
