A household name, Sergeant’s experience, political knowledge and love of the English language have seen him work with numerous television and radio shows.

John Sergeant’s background
John worked for 30 years on the staff of the BBC, mostly as a political correspondent. Having written his memoirs, “Give Me Ten Seconds” he left to become political editor of ITV. Although he made his name as a serious reporter, covering the troubles in Northern Ireland and the war in Vietnam,, his first BBC job was appearing in a TV comedy series with Alan Bennett.
After turning freelance more than 20 years ago, he has taken part in many documentaries and light entertainment programmes, including Strictly Come Dancing, Have I Got Newsfor You, and Parkinson. He had a long stint on the One Show and has toured theatres throughout the country in “An Audience with John Sergeant.”
