Meet Ben Hanlin
Hailing from Birmingham, Ben has been performing on stages for over twenty years.
After quitting his “proper job” in 2009, to pursue a career as a full time magician, Ben decided to launch a YouTube channel, which involved him “stalking celebrities” (in a nice way) and then doing magic to them – His favourite adventure is still the one he flew to L.A. to find Britney Spears!
This led to Ben being offered a number of opportunities as a TV magician/presenter. First on CBBC, then Discovery Channel’s “Breaking Magic” and his own magic/prank show, Tricked on ITV2, which was awarded “Best Entertainment Show” (Broadcast Digital Awards).
For over a decade, Ben has loved performing his funny, interactive magic on TV shows all over The World and simultaneously hosting radio shows, and large global corporate events.
As a LIVE performer, one of his proudest achievements is performing in London’s West End, in “The Illusionists” and “ITVs Live at The Palladium”. His one-man shows also received five stars in 2016 and 2018 at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Theatre Weekly awarded it, “The best variety show of The Fringe!” (2018).
In recent years, partly due to the initial effects of the pandemic, Ben has refocused his energies back to social media, and his magic has now been watched by billions of people globally and gained him over 2 million followers online.
He is still completely loving performing on TV, Online, or on stage and the entrepreneur in him has also branched out into co-founding a digital marketing, based in the heart of Birmingham!
But more importantly than all of that, when he’s not working (if you can call it “work”) – he’s spending time with amazing wife and two young kids.

HOW TO MAGICALLY ENGAGE AND CONNECT WITH ANY AUDIENCE, ANY SIZE, ANYTIME
Failing to connect in the workplace can have negative effects across the entire company:
- Staff aren’t clear on their direction
- Leaders/managers can’t inspire, motivate or change their team’s behaviour
- Client relationships suffer, and it’s more difficult to nurture and close potential leads.
In ANY interaction, if you can’t engage or create a connection, your message WILL NOT be received!

The answer – They don’t have “magic powers” instead, there is a clear process involved coupled, with extremely hard work and resilience.
Ben has applied these skills to multiple ventures and the results have been amazing. From creating and executing hundreds of TV magic tricks, growing a social media following of over 2 million, or creating and building a successful Digital Marketing Agency the core skills remain the same.
His mindset can be distilled and explained in the form of core skills such as:
Being able to set clear goals – every single trick begins with a crystal clear goal. Ben knows exactly the destination he is heading for – He works backwards to create a step by step roadmap to get there.
Learning how to Fail – Every trick Ben has ever done has performed has failed at some point. He embraces failure as it is a chance to learn and grow.
Resilience – If you have a bad gig, the trick goes completely wrong, or the TV show you star in gets cancelled….it’s very hard to get up the next day and keep going. Ben has had so many moments in his career where “the rug has been pulled from underneath him” – in those moments, how do you keep going and keep moving forward.
