About Lizzy Yarnold

Lizzy Yarnold is a double Olympic, World and European Champion in skeleton racing. She made history by becoming the first British slider and only the second woman ever to hold all three titles at the same time.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics, Lizzy was the highlight of ‘Super Saturday’, where Britain won 3 medals on the same day for the first time ever.

After her sensational win at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Lizzy captured the hearts and imagination of the British Public. People warmed to the humble young woman from Kent who never gave up on her dreams and with a frightening determination, reached the pinnacle of world sport.

Having been picked to take part in skeleton after entering a talent programme called ‘Girls for Gold’ in 2008, Lizzie’s rise to Olympic champion in just 5 years shows her focus and determination, her coaches commenting that her mental toughness is indeed unique.

As a keynote speaker, Lizzy is comfortable delivering a motivational speech, taking part in a Q&A session or working and interacting with groups or individuals. Lizzy is adept at tailoring her keynote speeches to engage different audiences.

Achievements

Lizzy graduated in Geography and Sports Science and is passionate about environmental issues and encouraging healthy role models for young people.

She was runner-up in 2014 and third in 2015 at the Sky and Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year awards and was nominated for the 2014 BBC Sports Personality.

Lizzy was awarded an MBE for Services to Sport in June 2014.
