Biography
Katie Derham is a UK broadcaster and journalist with extensive experience across national television news and arts broadcasting. Her career has combined frontline reporting with high-profile presenting roles, giving organisations and audiences a clear view of how media, culture, and public conversation intersect.
Her broadcast career spans roles at both the BBC and ITN/ITV News, where she worked as a national news presenter and served as Media and Arts Editor. During her time at ITN she was among the youngest newscasters on British national television, presenting coverage of major national and international events and developing a reputation for clear, authoritative broadcasting.
Derham later returned to the BBC, where her work has focused on arts and cultural broadcasting. She presents coverage of the BBC Proms and is a presenter on BBC Radio 3, including the flagship programme In Tune, placing her at the centre of one of the UK’s most prominent platforms for classical music and arts programming.
Alongside her broadcasting career, she is co-founder of the content and production company Peanut & Crumb, created with producer and director Jane Gerber. The company develops and produces programming across television and digital platforms, extending Derham’s involvement in cultural storytelling and media production.
