Prior to founding Streets Consulting, Julia was global head of communications at NYSE Technologies, serving on the Executive Committee, and European head of marketing and sales development at Instinet.

In 2017 Julia launched a podcast series ‘DiverCity Podcast’. On each episode, she interviews industry luminaries to shine a light on positive progress, call out areas requiring further focus and offer insights and best practice to help listeners drive change.

In 2019 Julia and her team launched a communications confidence building programme ‘Executive Shine’ coaching professionals from across the industry in how to be heard and command presence in meeting rooms, on conference calls, on stages, panels and as a compelling speaker.

Brummell Magazine, known as the ‘City’s little black book’, has recognised Julia a number of times – as one of their 30 Inspirational Women Influencers, 30 Inspirational Women Entrepreneurs and 30 Inspirational Women on Boards. She is regularly listed on various Women in FinTech lists and is often called upon to host and MC many industry and public events. Julia is the author of ‘The Lingua Franca of the Corporate Banker’ lampooning excessive use of corporate jargon, and is an after-dinner speaker, auctioneer and stand-up comedian.

Financial Times

A light-hearted book but one with a good question at its heart: why do we feel the need to conform to language we often ridicule and never use out of the office? Well-researched and readable, it also taught me quite a few new phrases I never knew."

Philip Stafford

'Julia Streets clearly enjoys hosting major events. It's not easy to command the attention of niche audiences like those in the FinTech industry, but Julia's industry knowledge allowed her to deliver to this audience, with relish. Julia hosted the 2015 bobsguide FinTech Innovation Awards, held at the Brewery, London. Her smooth running commentary and spontaneous remarks delivered the perfect elements for a memorable event.'

'Recovered idiom abuser Julia Streets guides you laughing, gasping and weeping through the maze of corporate gobbledygook. This timely gem is required reading for anyone who has ever wanted to run amok with an axe when they hear the words blue sky thinking.'

Rowan Pelling
FT Columnist and Channel 4 'Super Scrimper'

'I have had the pleasure of performing with Julia on a number of occasions. As a fellow entrepreneur and business woman, Julia has a lot to say about business that is worth listening to, and more to the point is downright funny. She invariably inspires peals of laughter in every audience she entertains.'
