Mike Kaplin’s background
Mike Kaplin is a pioneer, speaker and one of the first and most famous Permaculturist in Israel. He is also a co-founder and Director of The Centre for Creative Ecology.
Mike has lead numerious projects and has pioneered the building of the first recyling area in Israel, with the building of natural buildings, which has resulted in the legalisation of the natural building regulations.
He was also the catalyst for turning voluntary ecological work into a formal kibbutz work branch and instrumental in the decision to support the building of an educational eco-park. He has also been instrumental in the coordination of the “Green Apprenticeship” work /study program which is an in-depth practical, ecological, communal, Israeli experience.
Prior to this, Mike worked for the Kibbutz Lotan construction team and was manager of the metalwork shop at Kibbutz Lotan.
He has a BTEC Diploma and Higher Diploma in furniture studies, design/craft, London College of Furniture and has also achieved an organic growers certificate from the Israeli Organic Organization and Permaculture Design Certificate.
