About Jim Hagemann Snabe

As a leading participant in the World Economic Forum, and member of its Board of Trustees, Snabe has become a global commentator on the role of business in society, how technology must align with humanity, and having trust in human potential.

He is Danish, although spent his early childhood in Greenland. After gaining a master’s degree in operational research at Aarhus, he joined SAP where he became leader of the Nordic region, and eventually co-CEO of the company in 2010.

Today, Snabe is chairman of Siemens AG, the German industrial conglomerate, with businesses ranging from energy and infrastructure to healthcare and mobility, and is the largest manufacturing company in Europe. It employs around 385,000 people around the world, with revenues of $94 billion in 2019.

He is also chairman of the world’s largest integrated container logistics company, A.P. Møller–Mærsk, based in Denmark with 76,000 employees worldwide and revenues of $39 billion in 2019. He is also vice-chairman of Allianz Insurance.

“Dreams and Details” is a new leadership model to help companies navigate through disruption, and constantly reinvent themselves from a position of strength.

In times of radical change caused by innovation, trade wars and now also pandemics, organizations need to accept that managing against a predefined business plan is no longer sufficient.

Instead leaders need to instead inspire people to pursue an ambitious dream and unleash human potential to find the best path to reach the dream.

Snabe has co-authored the book “Dreams and Details” with Mikael Trolle to explain the leadership model, and offering specific recommendations for how you can reinvent your business and your leadership style. Trolle is also author of a range of book on leadership, motivation and sports, and was head coach of Denmark’s national volleyball team.

The book seeks to help reinvent your business and leadership from a position of strength. By doing so, we believe that we contribute to a more prosperous and balanced world in terms of economics and wealth, and further too, through helping leaders inspire and unleash human potential.

“The Dreams and Details Academy” was developed by Snabe and Trolle to support business leaders and their organisations through a wide range of activities and resources. These range from large corporate events through to executive development programs, focused business consulting and leadership coaching.
