Will Greenwood's 2023 biography
How Will Greenwood presents?
In his presentations Will shows how the World Cup-winning team went from seventh to top place driven by self-belief and clear leadership. Will describes how under-performing players were encouraged, not blamed; how everyone needs to be heard; and how at club level, relegation made him more determined than ever.
Clever, witty, articulate and engaging, Will’s presence on the platform is as engaging as it was on the pitch. He is truly one of Rugby’s most engaging, intelligent and witty after dinner speakers.
Under the tutelage of Clive Woodward, Will made his name and achieved great victories, including man-of-the-match accolades in England’s Six Nations victories over Scotland, Wales and Italy in 2002, and joint top try scorer in the 2003 World Cup. Through adverse injury problems, Will played for the British & Irish Lions in the 2005 tour of New Zealand, which rounded off 11 brilliant years at the top of his game.
His work ethic, determination and continuous need to improve, led Will to the pinnacle of the national and international game.
A regular match-day presenter for Sky and a weekly columnist for the Telegraph, his opinions and insights are sought-after and lauded. In 2014 Will fronted Sky TV’s School of Hard Knocks, a reality show in which he mentors a group of budding young rugby stars. In 2016 Will took up a voluntary position as a part-time maths teacher in a secondary school in Berkshire.
An engaging and charismatic speaker, Will also sheds light on the more serious lessons learnt from a career in elite sport. As a Durham Economics graduate and former trader with an investment bank, he speaks intelligently about the leadership, self belief, and culture needed to turn a team around and achieve sustained high performance. His career has furnished him with an endless supply of stories which can be adapted to entertain any audience, whether they follow rugby or not. Combined with his natural sense of humour and timing he has established himself as one of the most in-demand speakers around.
