These qualities propelled her from local dance studios in Rio to the international stages of ballet.

Prestigious Beginnings:

Mayara’s childhood dream of becoming a Principal at The Royal Ballet began to materialize after she conquered some of the world’s most prestigious ballet competitions. Her significant achievements include winning the Gold Medal at the Youth America Grand Prix and earning both the Scholarship and Audience Prize at the Prix de Lausanne. These accolades led to a scholarship at The Royal Ballet School, where she graduated with lead performances in ‘Paquita’ and ‘Un Ballo’.

Mayara joined The Royal Ballet and quickly ascended through the ranks, achieving the position of First Soloist in 2017. Despite being a soloist, she had already captivated audiences with numerous Principal Roles at The Royal Opera House. Her scheduled debut as Odette/Odile in “Swan Lake” in 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic, but she triumphantly assumed the role of the “Swan Queen” in February 2022. Mayara’s radiant portrayal of Princess Aurora in “The Sleeping Beauty” in January 2023 further cemented her status as a principal dancer.
