Kristel Bauer

Burnout has become a workforce productivity problem, not a wellness problem. Engagement programmes, resilience training, and hybrid policies have multiplied, yet attrition, presenteeism, and disengagement still cost organisations billions a year. Leaders need workplace wellbeing treated as a clinical and operational discipline, not a perks budget.

Kristel Bauer is a corporate wellbeing and peak performance keynote speaker whose clinical psychiatric background helps organisations turn employee health into a measurable driver of engagement, retention, and output.

Biography

Workplace wellbeing has become an operating cost line that few organisations know how to manage. Engagement scores stay flat, mental health claims rise, and the hybrid debate consumes leadership attention. The clinical evidence on what actually moves the dial sits outside most HR functions.

Kristel Bauer brings that evidence into the room. She practised as a Physician Assistant with clinical experience in integrative psychiatry and completed an Integrative Medicine Fellowship before founding Live Greatly in 2019 to focus full time on workplace wellbeing and performance.

Her book, Work-Life Tango: Finding Happiness, Harmony and Peak Performance Wherever You Work, was published by John Murray Business in November 2024. The thesis replaces the static idea of balance with a more dynamic operating model: harmony as something teams design for, not something individuals struggle to achieve. The Live Greatly podcast has carried that argument into a wider audience, with conversations across leadership, behavioural science, and performance.

Bauer has presented for AbbVie, Bank of America, bp, Cognizant, General Mills, Home Depot, Santander, TIAA, and the U.S. Census Bureau, among others. She is a contributing writer for Entrepreneur, a Forbes Top 10 Social Media Influencer, a 2026 Top Impact Speaker by Real Leaders, and a TEDx speaker.

Testimonials

As a 2nd year PA Student about to enter a career in the middle of a pandemic, Kristel's stress management/lifestyle lectures were a wonderful complement to my education. She is a champion of integrative medicine and boosted my arsenal of wellness modalities which I hope to incorporate for both my future patients and self. Her demonstration of techniques during lecture, such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation, also make her talks fun and interactive!

Kristel was an excellent resource to my physician assistant program, as she lectured several times to our class during our Psychology unit as well as virtually during quarantine. Her lifestyle/stress management talks during COVID-19 provided wonderful information that was very helpful and relevant. I know myself and my classmates very much enjoyed her talks. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in creating better habits and learning stress management skills.

Kristel led a presentation for my colleagues and I during the COVID-19 pandemic. She shared with us practical strategies to promote health, prevent illness, and manage stress. These strategies spanned many facets of daily life including one's diet, sleep, and supplements. I found the mind/body modalities she shared particularly helpful in grounding myself and providing some relief in a very stressful time. I look forward to sharing similar strategies with my patients in the future.

Recently, we had Kristel as our keynote speaker for our Louisville Business First Women’s event. She was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. She tailored her message for the audience, but also listened to us on what our overall goals were and what we wanted the audience to experience. Attendees left with actionable items they could immediately implement not only in their personal life, but how businesses can make changes to improve the happiness in employees, and how it leads to greater productivity. Backed by data, her presentation empowers you to make the small changes that bring big results.

Kristel gave an excellent presentation on Self Care to the annual General Mills Women in Marketing event. This could not have come at a better time as our women have dealt with multiple stressors over the past year and a half. One director stated: ‘LOVED the self-care session! Such great, practical tips. Thanks WIM team for bringing this speaker in!’ The tips associated with multiple aspects of care, important self-reflection questions, and effective hands on practice provided relevant instruction that our members can incorporate into their daily lives.

We initially invited Kristel as a guest lecturer for our PA program. As a graduate of the program, and the additional training in integrative medicine, she offered a unique perspective to our students. Given her focus on mindfulness and wellness every time she taught, we invited her back to specially teach that to students, faculty and staff. The tools she provides are invaluable, and she can speak from the point of view of a fellow healthcare provider as well.
